For example, I recently helped a community center with its network setup. They needed to provide Internet connection to tenants who were renting space, in addition to their own shared Internet. They also shared a number of folders on the network, but weren't too careful about password protecting the shares.
Apr 26, 2008 · Router 2 is a brand new router btw, and I upgraded the firmware on it. So here's how my connection is setup: Internet > Modem > Router 1 > Router 2 > This computer. If I simply directly connect this computer to Router 1(instead of connecting it to Router 2), the disconnections doesn't happen. Now at first I had only one router. Routers aren't expecting folks to do what we're doing, so when you turn on the second router it will also default to 192.168.1.1. You're turning off the first so the second can be changed. Turn on the second router and set its static IP address to 192.168.1.2. Under IP Address Distribution, set it to "disabled."
